Return through the small town of Rocca Ripesena emerging, like Orvieto, from a volcanic tufa mass. Afternoon: visit to Orvieto with its important Etruscan attractions, like Pozzo della Cava and Faina Museum. |

THE ANCIENT SELVA DI MEANA |

Morning: this path will show the spectacular landscape of the oak covered Selva di Meana with its magnificent Art Nouveau Villa Cahen, surrounded by an Italian style garden and lush greenhouses. Afternoon: sightseeing of the small town of Allerona with its gates «della Luna» and «del Sole». Tour of the Pugnaloni Museum. The Pugnaloni used to be pagan idols of the Gods of the earth, now turned into carts featuring miniaturized scenes of country life. |
THE ROMAN CONQUEST |

Morning: the itinerary continues on around the city walls of Orvieto. A visit to an ancient necropolis will bring you back to Etruscan times, when Orvieto was destroyed by the Romans in 264 and its inhabitants deported to Bolsena. Traces of the Roman conquest can also be found in the neighboring area of Baschi with the incredible Porto di Pagliano on the Tiber. Afternoon: visit to the lake Corbara vineyards, noted for Orvieto DOC production. |

Morning: Monte Peglia is noted as an incredibly rich source of trees and wildlife. Prodo has a medieval castle surrounded by the woods of Monte Peglia with a stunning view of Lake Corbara. Walking mountain paths, one arrive in the historic town of Titignano. Afternoon: visit to the ancient fortification of La Roccaccia. |
HISTORY AND NATURE |

Morning: this trekking itinerary leads to the incredible Umbrian-Etruscan necropolis of Vallone San Lorenzo [Montecchio district] with more than a thousand tombs set along a bit of the river course. The necropolis was first built by the Umbrians and then used by the Etruscans. It features, in fact, the contrast between two different architectural styles. Afternoon: tour of the naturalistic Oasi di Alviano, The "Oasi" is a natural lake created by the power plant dam of the river Tiber. Numerous species of migratory birds have been coming there to nest and feed. Bird-watchibg facilities are available. |
